Daily Prayer Briefing, May 22

In a highly-anticipated speech to Muslim leaders during his first foreign trip, President Trump Sunday called for unity between the U.S. and Middle Eastern nations in the fight to “stamp out extremism.”

During his second day of his first trip abroad, Trump’s speech in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia addressed the leaders of 50 Muslim-majority countries to challenge extremism by cutting off the financing of terrorist groups.

Trump announced the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council, which is committed to prosecuting the financing of terrorism.

“Our goal is a coalition of nations who share the aim of stamping out extremism and providing our children a hopeful future that does honor to God,” Trump said.

The council comprises Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

“America is prepared to stand with you – in pursuit of shared interests and common security,” Trump said.

“This is not a battle between different faiths, different sects, or different civilizations,” the president added.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   For President Trump as he continues his trip overseas

   •   World leaders and the Trump administration as they deal with North Korean threats

   •  For the president, vice-president and other leaders in our nation

Daily Prayer Briefing, May 21

President Trump on Saturday began his first overseas trip as president with a stop in Saudi Arabia, calling the visit a “tremendous day” and pledging to work with leader King Salman to bring peace to the Gulf region and forge stronger economic ties, in large part through a roughly $10 billion arms deal.

“That was a tremendous day,” Trump said shortly after signing the arms deal. “Tremendous investments in the United States. Hundreds of billions of dollars of investments into the United States and jobs, jobs, jobs."

The arms deal is part of large, $350 billion economic packages between the ally nations. Trump is scheduled to make a major speech Sunday in which he’s expected to show support for America’s Persian Gulf allies, a likely reset after months of talk about Muslim extremism.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   For President Trump as he continues his overseas trip in Saudi Arabia

   •   For Congress as they continue their investigations

   •   For law enforcement personnel nationwide as they protect their communities

Daily Prayer Briefing, May 19

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told lawmakers on Thursday that he has some doubts that “alternate scoring models” will give enough credit to the potential for economic growth when assessing the impact of the Trump administration's tax plan.

In late April, the administration put out a one-page overview of its tax reform plans, which would cut taxes for businesses to 15 percent, as well as cutting taxes and simplifying income tax brackets for individuals. Critics question how the tax cuts will affect the federal deficit.

"What I have said repeatedly is that any plan we put forward we believe should be paid for with economic growth," Mnuchin told the Senate Banking Committee. "I am concerned as to whether some of the models will attribute enough growth in dynamic scoring but when we present the details we will present how we think it should be paid for."

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   The Trump administration as they work on economic and tax issues
   •   President Trump as he leaves on his first overseas trip
   •   The continued enforcement of U.S. immigration laws
   •   The continued improvement of the U.S. economy

We provide these suggested prayer items to help you intercede for the issues that face our president each day. We trust that you will also pray for all our leaders with concerns for God's wisdom and for His will to be done.

Daily Prayer Briefing, May 18

President Trump took on his media critics Wednesday toward the end of a commencement address at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, telling the graduating class not to let the “naysayers get in the way of your dreams.”

Trump’s speech at the USCG Academy in New London, Connecticut was his second address of the 2017 graduation season and he thanked the class for their service, while also including some “advice,” which echoed the same approach he applied to his campaign and his presidency.

“Over the course of your life, you will find that things are not always fair and that things happen to you that you do not deserve, and that are not always warranted, but you have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight,” Trump said, saying that “no politician in history has been treated worse or more unfairly” by the media.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   For President Trump in his role as commander in chief
   •   That the media will report fairly, honestly and accurately about the administration
   •   For the healing of America’s political divide
   •   Families of those killed and those injured in the storms in Wisconsin and Oklahoma

We provide these suggested prayer items to help you intercede for the issues that face our president each day. We trust that you will also pray for all our leaders with concerns for God's wisdom and for His will to be done.

Daily Prayer Briefing - May 16

President Trump took aim at anti-police movements in the United States on Monday, calling ambush-style killings of police last year “a stain on the very fabric of our society,” adding that too many Americans “obstruct” law enforcement.

“We are living through an era in which our police are subjected to unfair vilification and defamation – even worse, hostility and violence,” Trump said at a memorial ceremony at the Capitol for fallen officers. “More officers were slain last year in ambushes than in any year in more than two decades.”

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   For the Trump administration as they work with law enforcement officials nationwide

   •   For President Trump and Attorney General Sessions as they choose the next director of the FBI

   •   For an end to violence and hostility toward police nationwide

We provide these suggested prayer items to help you intercede for the issues that face our president each day. We trust that you will also pray for all our leaders with concerns for God's wisdom and for His will to be done.

US Pray 100 - Day 100 (May 02)

President Trump assured small bankers yesterday that he’s committed to cutting red tape imposed on them by the Dodd-Frank financial regulatory law.

Yesterday members of the Independent Community Bankers of America met at the White House. President Trump said he is working to “roll back burdensome regulations” such as those created by the 2010 law.

The administration has noted that the number of small banks has dropped about 30 percent since 2008.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   President as he continues to free businesses and banks from government over regulations.

   •   Congress as they debate and vote on the funding the federal government package this week.

   •   Trump administration as they continue working on health care issues
