US Pray 100 - Day 92 (Apr. 24)

President Donald Trump talked to Chinese President Xi Jinping yesterday and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe early this morning to discuss a strategy in dealing with North Korea.

President Xi told Trump that China strongly opposed North Korea’s nuclear weapons program and hoped “all parties will exercise restraint and avoid aggravating the situation.”

President Abe called North Korea’s nuclear and missile problem an “extremely serious threat.”

Both leaders agreed to urge North Korea to refrain from provocative actions.

President Trump’s afternoon contains a meeting with the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs where North Korea and Iran will be discussed.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •    President Trump and his administration as they strategize on how to respond to North Korea and Iran.

   •   4th Circuit and 9th Circuit appeals court as they hear arguments on the president's travel ban on citizens of six Muslim-majority nations.

We provide these suggested prayer items to help you intercede for the issues that face our president each day. We trust that you will also pray for all our leaders with concerns for God's wisdom and for His will to be done.

President Donald Trump today at noon will sign a directive asking for an investigation into if foreign-made steel is hurting U.S. national security.

Pursuant to Section 232(B) of the Trade Expansion Act -- the law allows the president to impose restrictions on imports for reasons of national security.

The order would direct Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross to investigate whether foreign-made steel is being imported with inadequate quality or inappropriate quantities -- in a way that it threatens to weaken national security.

US Pray 100 - Day 86 (Apr. 18)

President Donald Trump will sign an executive order today to modify the nation's guest workers programs and federal procurement rules.

The president hopes to make strides on his push to buy and hire American. “My administration will follow two simple rules: buy American and hire American,” he told Congress last month.

Mr. Trump will call on federal agencies to look at reducing abuses that could let companies hire foreigners even when qualified Americans are waiting.

The executive order will ask for a government-wide review of contracting laws, and will reduce loop-holes that allow federal agencies to skirt existing buy-American laws.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   President Trump travels to Wisconsin to tour a company, meet company leaders and signs an executive order.

   •   President Trump and his team as they work on immigration and security issues.

   •   Vice-President Pence as he meets with U.S. allies in Asia

Apr. 14: Tax Day Protests: Anti-Trump Marches Planned Nationwide to...

Democratic lawmakers and liberal activists plan to ring in Tax Day with nationwide protests this weekend meant to pressure President Trump to release his tax returns – with organizers hoping for the biggest anti-Trump showing since January's Women's March.

On Saturday, thousands are expected to attend 'Tax Marches' in approximately 150 cities, including several affiliated events overseas.

“Whether people support him or not, [releasing his tax returns] is something that people think he should do. I think there is a chance something like this could move him,” said Lisa Gilbert, vice president of legislative affairs at Public Citizen, one of the groups organizing the marches.

The president's supporters, however, see the marches – and the persistent tax return focus – as a waste of time.

The protests, if nothing else, could make for a rowdy scene in cities across the country, reminiscent of the Women's March on inauguration weekend.

As many as 25,000 are expected to attend the rally in Washington, D.C. Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and Reps. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., and Jamie Raskin, D-Md., will be among the speakers.

While organic in nature, the marches are being organized under the umbrella of several liberal activists. The partnering labor unions and activist groups range from the well-known – MoveOn.org and Common Cause – to more obscure players like the Endangered Species Coalition.

Whether it resonates beyond Tax Day – which is typically April 15, though the IRS is pushing the deadline to Tuesday – is unclear. But Democrats in Congress continue to use tax returns as a wedge issue.

Sources: (Fox News, NBC News, Politico)

As the Lord leads, please pray:
• For marches to be peaceful and law abiding
• For President Trump as he works to unite the nation
• For continued healing of America’s political divide
