Prior to the rally, the president toured Kirkwood Community College, a Cedar Rapids school known for its Agriculture Department and watched a demonstration of a combine simulator.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, and the state's Agricultural Secretary, Bill Northey joined the president on his visit to the college as his visited focused on agriculture and technology.

Wednesday night’s event also included a sending off ceremony of sorts for former Iowa governor Terry Branstad, who was recently confirmed as the new U.S. ambassador to China.

Daily Prayer Briefing, June 20

President Donald Trump met with the chief executives of technology companies including Apple and Amazon on Monday as the White House looks to the private sector for help in cutting government waste and improving services.

The administration believes there is an "economic opportunity" to save up to $1 trillion over 10 years by significantly cutting government information technology costs, reducing government costs through improved IT, leveraging government buying power and cutting fraud across government agencies.

The meeting with nearly 20 chief executives came as the White House pushes to shrink government, cut federal employees and eliminate regulations. Many business executives are eager to work with the new administration as they face numerous regulatory and other policy issues.

In May, Trump created an "American Technology Council," the latest in a series of efforts to modernize the U.S. government. He signed a separate order in March to overhaul the federal government and tapped son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner to lead a White House Office of American Innovation to leverage business ideas and potentially privatize some government functions.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   For members of the U.S. Supreme Court as they rule on a variety of issues

   •   For the lessening of tensions between the U.S. and Russia

   •   For President Trump as he faces continual scrutiny

Daily Prayer Briefing, June 18

The President addressed the shooting of five people in Virginia and highlighted the bravery of the Capitol Police as he spoke to the nation in this weekend’s media address.

“This week, our nation was shocked and horrified when a gunman opened fire on a Member of Congress,” Trump said. “Five people were wounded in the assault, including a member of House Leadership – my good friend, Steve Scalise.”

Steve is beloved across Washington, he embodies everything public service is about – he’s dedicated to his constituents, devoted to his values, and deeply committed to his country.  I visited Steve, his wife, and his family in the hospital as he continues to fight for his recovery.  435 Members of Congress and 300 million Americans are pulling for him, praying for him, and pledging to him our full and total support.”

“We continue to hold all of those wounded and fighting for recovery in our hearts and prayers, including Matt Mika, who was also badly wounded.”

In that terrible crime, we also witnessed the incredible heroism of Capitol Police.  Special Agent Crystal Griner – who I also had the honor of meeting during my visit to the Hospital – raced into gunfire, along with Special Agent David Bailey.  They saved the lives of our Members of Congress and prevented that dark day from becoming a tragedy beyond imagination. They, like so many other courageous police officers, represent the very best of us. We salute them, and we also salute members of Alexandria Police, Fire and Rescue.”

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   President Trump as he leads the nation

   •   Young Americans everywhere as they enter the work force

   •   The families of the missing sailors

   •   The continued recovery of thoses shot earlier this week at the baseball game

The President's Daily Schedule

10:00 am - The President and First Lady depart the White House en route to Camp David

4:30 pm - The President and First Lady return to the White House

Daily Prayer Briefing, June 13

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is scheduled to testify today before the Senate Intelligence Committee about the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia.

Members of the Intelligence Committee said they wanted Sessions to recount what happened during and after the February 14 Oval Office meeting where – according to former FBI Director James Comey – Trump pressured him to drop the FBI investigation into Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser. Sessions was among those Trump asked to leave the meeting so he could speak privately with Comey.

“We’ve had a lot of unnamed sources in the media come out and make statements about Jeff Sessions,” Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma, a Republican who is on the committee, said on Sunday’s “Face the Nation.” “It’d be very good to get it directly from him.”

Senators say Sessions will face pointed questions not only about his contacts with Russian officials but also about his conversations with Comey.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   Attorney General Sessions as he testifies before the Senate Intelligence Committee

   •   For President Trump and his family as they face constant criticism and scrutiny

   •   For President Trump and his team as they consider a modified policy toward Cuba

Daily Prayer Briefing, June 12

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has agreed to appear before the Senate intelligence committee on June 13 to answer questions regarding the Russia investigation, on the heels of former FBI Director James Comey's fiery testimony last week.

In a letter Saturday to Sen. Richard Shelby, Sessions wrote that his decision to appear comes in light of Comey's testimony.

Sessions already had been scheduled to discuss the Justice Department budget before a Senate panel chaired by Shelby. However, Sessions said it's clear the investigation of alleged Russian meddling in the presidential election would become the focus of questioning and described the intelligence panel as the proper forum for that discussion.

It's unclear whether the meeting will be open to the public or closed, but lawmakers want to hear from Sessions considering Comey's wide-reaching allegations.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   Jeff Sessions as he appears before the Senate Intelligence Committee

   •   For President Trump as he sets forth a new Cuba policy

   •   For U.S. soldiers fighting in Afghanistan

Daily Prayer Briefing, June 11

President Trump says he is "100%" willing to testify under oath to dispute the ex-FBI director's claims that Trump urged him to drop an investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

There was "no collusion, no obstruction" of justice, Trump said Friday during a joint news conference with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, adding that Comey is "a leaker" to boot. The "collusion" reference is apparently to the White House's long-running contention that there is no evidence Trump's campaign colluded with Russian attempts to undermine the election.

Trump flatly denied Comey's testimony that the president asked him to let go of an investigation into Flynn – "I didn't say that" – and denied the former director's claim that Trump asked him for a pledge of personal loyalty.

Asked if he would repeat his claims about Comey under oath, Trump said: "100%."

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   For Russell Vought, one of President Trump's nominees for an administration position

   •   A resolution of the Justice Department suit against the Trump administration

   •   For President Trump and his team as they work on important policy issues

Daily Prayer Briefing, June 10

President Donald Trump says that U.S. infrastructure will "once again be the envy of the world."

Trump visited the Department of Transportation's headquarters Friday to highlight his goal of curbing regulations on infrastructure projects.

Trump sat at a round table discussion with White House and state transportation officials that his administration is working to streamline the permitting process.

He says that, right now, the country's infrastructure is being "laughed" and "scoffed" at and complains that highways take too long to build.

Trump has been promoting vague plans to bolster the country's roads, bridges and waterways in what his aides have dubbed "infrastructure week."

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   For President Trump and his team as they lead the nation

   •   For British leaders as they put together a coalition government

   •   For President Trump as he continues building bridges to the Evangelical community

   •   For members of the law enforcement community as they fight terrorism threats

Daily Prayer Briefing, June 08

President Donald Trump outlined his vision on Wednesday for an infrastructure plan that includes federal grants to rural areas as well as to states and localities to create additional funding for projects.

Trump outlined his plan during a speech in Cincinnati as part of what the White House has billed as a week-long effort to formally launch the initiative to deliver the one- trillion-dollar infrastructure investment he has promised to upgrade crumbling roads, bridges, airports and other assets.

The president proposes allocating $200 billion in federal funding over 10 years to spur at least an additional $800 billion in spending by states, municipalities and the private sector. The federal funds will be divided into four categories, including a mixture of grants and loans to “transformative’’ projects, with Trump’s proposal to place the U.S. air-traffic control system under a private, non-profit corporation as an example.

“The president aims to give states and localities the ability to address their own critical infrastructure needs and to collaborate with private enterprises where it makes sense,’ the White House says.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   For the Trump administration as they work on infrastructure plans

   •   For Christopher Wray as he goes through the Senate confirmation process

   •   For James Comey and others as they testify before the Senate

Daily Prayer Briefing, June 06

President Trump on Monday unveiled his proposal to hand over control of the U.S. air-traffic control system to a non-profit corporation as he kicked off a week-long push for his infrastructure plan.

The proposal, designed to lower costs and improve the efficiency of the system that oversees flights, would transfer about 15,000 controllers and thousands of other managers and technical workers to a new government-sanctioned corporation.

In an attempt to gain support for a plan that fell short in Congress last year, the White House said the 13-member board of directors for the new corporation should be made up of appointees from industry stakeholder groups. Critics had charged the proposal last year gave too much power to airlines.

The plan is part of the White House’s goal to transform U.S. infrastructure. Later this week Trump is expected to travel to Ohio to garner support for his strategy to channel $1 trillion into the nation’s roads, bridges, inland waterways and other public facilities.

The proposal is also designed to shrink government and reduce taxes, according to D.J. Gribbin, a special assistant to the president who gave a briefing on the plan Monday morning.

As the Lord leads, please pray for:

   •   For President Trump and his team as they work on infrastructure issues

   •   The families of those killed in the Orlando shooting

   •   For the families of those killed in London and those recovering from their injuries

   •   For members of the U.S. Supreme Court as they consider the president's travel ban
