PTAP: Qatar, Quest, Fulfillment

We so often see with earthly eyes and not spiritual, and need reminding that the recent Middle East turmoil surrounding Qatar is both geo-political and in the heavens. Due to the wealth of the nation, daily lives of residents and locals seem unchanged. The supermarket shelves have been refilled after an initial panic, water and electricity continue, and the minor inconveniences include finding flights that don't go through certain airports.  Locals are hanging Qatari flags on their homes;…See More

PTAP: City Focus - Umm Al-Quwain, UAE

Umm al-Quwain is both a city and an emirate in the United Arab Emirates.  The name means "the mother of two powers," one power being the sea and the other the land. Umm al-Quwain is a relaxed and peaceful emirate.Archeological digs show that this city goes back over 5,000 years and there are tombs that go back to the time of Christ. Its unique lagoon today hosts fishing and speedboats, but in the past, other travelers came here to exchange goods from around the Gulf and the world. They were…See More

New Season

As Ramadan has come to a close, pray for freedom from a religious spirit that keeps people in bondage to faith in their own works. Pray that believers will live out their faith in front of their neighbors and co-workers in a way that will attract them to Jesus Christ. Continue to pray that locals will have dreams and visions of Jesus Christ. Pray that they will hunger to know Him for who is truly is and connect with believers who can help disciple them.Be in prayer for university students who…See More

PTAP: Night of Power; Qatar

Today (June 22, 2017) is the 27th day of Ramadan and is known as the Night of Power or Destiny.  It is one of the holiest days in the Islamic calendar.  Muslims believe that the Qu'ran was first revealed to Mohammad during this last week of Ramadan which established Mohammad as the Messenger of Allah.  Nobody knows the exact day but the 27th day is generally accepted. The Night of Power is found both in the Qu'ran and the Hadith.  It is reported in the Hadith that Mohammad said: "Whoever stays…See More

PTAP: Jubail, Saudi Arabia, home of ancient Christian Church.

Sitting on the northeast coast of Saudi Arabia, Jubail is one of the largest industrial cities in the Middle East. From 1975 until current day, Jubail has seen rapid expansion and an influx of petrochemical workers. Although many internationals come to work in this city, Jubail remains predominantly Saudi (73%) thus making it an effective ministry city.   Prayer PointsWith the concentration of Saudi citizens in this area, pray that the Lord would send out Christian workers to this city who are…See More

PTAP: Pray for Qatar

In the past two days, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen, and other smaller states have severed diplomatic ties with Qatar over its alleged support for Islamist groups. These countries have previously pulled diplomats out of Qatar for similar political reasons, but this time, it appears that things are a bit more serious than usual. These countries have closed off airspace, sea, and land borders with Qatar, largely isolating the country in the region. The tensions run deep with events…See More

PTAP - Ramadan, the Poor & the Bible

During the first week of Ramadan, many in the Arabian Peninsula gather together with family members to break fast and feast in the evening, provide food to the poor, and pray special tarawih prayers. Pray that as their bodies hunger and thirst, that God will show them Jesus who promised, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will not hunger, and he who believes in me will never thirst" (John 6:35). As they give alms to the poor, pray that they will come to know Jesus who became poor for…See More

PTAP: Ramadan, love, Cholera in Yemen

Ramadan begins this coming Saturday (May 27), and many throughout the Arab Peninsula will be fasting, going to special prayers at the mosques, and spending time reading the Qur'an more. Pray that Jesus will visit many in dreams and visions during this special time, and that there may be a hunger for Truth among many in the Arabian Peninsula. Also pray for the Muslim background believers during this time--that they will hold on to their faith with steadfastness and not be ashamed of the…See More

PTAP: Professor, Workers, and Obedience.

A former student came into a professor's office with his cousin, who is currently finishing a course with this professor.  He said he had visited the expatriate church and liked it.  He asked the professor if he knew about this church, and this led to a conversation about worship in music and a brief sharing of the Gospel. On another occasion, this professor mentioned in class that there was an event years ago in university that changed his life. A student asked about this event when she…See More

PTAP: City Focus - Sur, Oman

As you travel the coastline down from Muscat, Oman, the mountains meet the ocean and you are immersed in the beauty of the expanse of blue on one side and the large rocky peaks and valleys on the other.  The road between these two features takes you to the city of Sur, Oman.  This town is settled around a bay that rests in a break between the mountains and opens the path to the interior of the country.  Historically, Sur's location proved to be ideal for accessing the trade routes from the Gulf…See More
